Comments

When you leave a comment on Hourly Hallelujah, I collect the information shown in the comment form (such as your name, email address, and the comment itself), as well as your IP address and browser information to help detect spam. Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

If you use Gravatar, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture may be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

Hourly Hallelujah uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects anonymous information such as IP addresses, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This information helps me improve content and the overall experience. Google may use cookies to gather this data. You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer not to be tracked.

Embedded content from other websites

Blog posts on Hourly Hallelujah may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited that other website directly. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content. I recommend reviewing their privacy policies for more details.

Who we share your data with

I use ConvertKit to collect and manage newsletter sign-ups. If you join my email list, your name and email address are securely stored by ConvertKit for the purpose of sending you emails. I also use Google Analytics to track anonymous visitor data, which helps me improve the site. I do not sell, trade, or rent your information.

How long we retain your data

If you sign up for the newsletter, your name and email address are retained until you unsubscribe, at which point they are removed from my active mailing list. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognized automatically.

What rights you have over your data

If you’ve signed up for my newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of my emails. You can also contact me at hello@hourlyhallelujah.com if you’d like me to remove you from my mailing list or delete a comment you’ve left.

If you’d like a copy of the personal information I have about you (such as your newsletter subscription details or approved comments), you can request that too. Please note that I can’t provide data from tools that only show anonymous information (like Google Analytics).

Where your data is sent

If you sign up for the newsletter, your information is sent to ConvertKit, which securely manages email subscriptions. Visitor data is also sent to Google Analytics to provide anonymous insights about traffic and site usage. Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
